Master in Comparative and Technological Molecular Genetics from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. From 2016 to 2019, invited assistant professor in the area of Forensic Sciences at Egas Moniz - Higher Education Cooperative. Researcher in the area of Forensic Biology and Genetics, in association with the Laboratory of Forensic and Psychological Sciences Egas Moniz. Since 2019, laboratory technician at the Genomics Unit of the Gulbenkian Institute of Science.

Carla Ferreira

Miss Carla Ferreira is an lecturer at Egas Moniz Higher Institute of Health Science, Portugal and she is currently a member of the Egas Moniz Forensic and Psychological Sciences Laboratory. She has obtained BSc. (Forensic and Criminal Sciences) and M.Sc. (Biomedical Sciences) degrees. She has supervised three M.Sc. students. Currently she is performing her PhD in Forensic Science in the University of Porto and developing her research on the assessment of toxicity of Novel Psychoactive Substances using yeast as model.

Mercedes Salado

María Mercedes Salado Puerto is an anthropologist and forensic biologist. She holds a PhD in biology (biological anthropology) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. She is currently the identification coordinator and director of the EAAF of Eurasia and the Middle East. She specializes in forensic investigation, search and identification of missing persons in different contexts. She is a member of the Forensic Advisory Group of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the UN Special Forensic Advisory Group on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, the certification board of the Latin American Association of Forensic Anthropology (ALAF), and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS).

Joana Couceiro

Joana Couceiro has a Master's degree in Molecular Biology in Health and is currently doing her PhD in Biology at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa with a specification in Genetics. She is a lecturer at the Egas Moniz University Institute and the Egas Moniz School of Health. She is also a researcher at the Egas Moniz Interdisciplinary Research Center (CiiEM), namely in the Laboratory of Molecular Pathology and Forensic Biochemistry, where in the last few years she has been developing work in the area of genetics, one of her focus of study, in the area of forensic genetics, being the genetics of aggressive behavior. Additionally, he integrates the Human Biology and Identification Office of the Egas Moniz Laboratory of Forensic and Psychological Sciences, where he is developing other projects in the area of forensic genetics.

Ricardo Araújo

Coordinator of the Thanatology Service of the Forensic Medical Institute of the Capital of the State of Minas Gerais - Belo Horizonte, Brazil (2016 - 2020). Member seconded by the Superintendence of Technical and Scientific Police for the BRUMADINHO Task Force (2019 - current). Member of the Forensic Anthropology Service of the Forensic Medical Institute Dr. André Roquette - Belo Horizonte, Brazil (2020 - current). Professor of Medicine at the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas de Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Henrique Santos

Henrique Castro Santos is a medical intern with specific psychiatric training at the Centro Hospitalar Psiquiátrico de Lisboa. He collaborates in the research team "Biomedical Neuroscience Research Lab" of Professor Diana Prata. He has a postgraduate degree in Social Medicine from the Catholic University of Lisbon.

Fernando Vieira

Fernando Vieira is a medical doctor, senior assistant of psychiatry at the Forensic Psychiatry Service of the Lisbon Psychiatric Hospital Centre. Member of the Board of the Forensic Psychiatry Subspecialty Section of the Psychiatry College of the Portuguese Medical Association. President of the Monitoring Committee for the Execution of the Compulsory Inpatient Regime. Advisor to the National Mental Health Program of the DGS for issues related to Forensic Psychiatry.
